POLICE have released images of a man they want to speak to after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in Bournemouth's Lower Gardens.

The 16-year-old victim was walking towards the beach through Lower Gardens with her friend when a group of men approached them at 5.40pm on Sunday, June 13, when a man, asked the victim to go for a chat.

He then led her to an area of bushes near to the crazy golf site, where he sexually assaulted her.

Police have now released images of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. 

Detective Inspector Amy Burbidge, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We have launched a full investigation into this incident and the victim is being supported by specially-trained officers.

“As part of our investigation, we have obtained images of a man we would like to speak to as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please come forward.

“I would also ask that anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any further information that might assist our investigation, please contacts us.

“Local officers will be carrying out increased patrols in the area and can be approached by members of the public with any concerns.”
