TWO children have been charged following an alleged knifepoint chase through Arne Avenue in Poole.

The boys, both 13, are accused of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place after an incident on Thursday night.

As reported by the Daily Echo, a 16-year-old boy was allegedly pursued shortly after 9pm.

No one was injured.

A police dog unit visited the road in Rossmore on Friday morning to carry out searches. A single shoe and a meat hammer were discovered.

It is not yet known if either item is connected to the incident, although both are said to be "significant".

Neither of the boys charged can be named. One is from Poole, and the second from Bournemouth. No pleas have been entered to the charge against them.

Members of the Rossmore community met at the Bourne Valley Youth Centre on Tuesday, January 23 to discuss anti-social behaviour after a spate of incidents.
