AN ILLEGAL immigrant from Vietnam was discovered when enforcement officers visited a Bournemouth nail salon.
Acting on information received, immigration officers went to Manhattan Nails in Commercial Road on the afternoon of Tuesday January 9.
A Home Office spokesman told the Daily Echo that staff at the premises were checked and that a 27-year-old man who had entered the UK illegally was discovered.
Now the business could face a penalty of up to £20,000 if the employer cannot demonstrate that appropriate right-to-work document checks were carried out, such as seeing a passport or Home Office document confirming permission to work.
The man must now report regularly to the Home Office while his case is progressed. The business was served a referral notice.
