Flour power will be the key ingredient of this year’s Bake Off by Breakthrough Breast Cancer to help save lives.

Now in its second year, the Bake Off is calling on bakers once again to help fund the charity’s life-saving research.

Whether you’re a master baker or a practicing pâtissier, all you need to do is gather friends, family and colleagues to share some home-baked goodies and raise some cash.

This year’s Bake Off is on October 17, but you can hold a Breakthrough Bake Off anytime during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Georgia Bridgwood, head baker for the Breakthrough Bake Off, says: “We hope everybody is ready and raring to go for this year’s Breakthrough Bake Off.

“The delicious campaign first launched last year, and was a huge success so we’re hoping even more people will take part this year.

“It’s heart-breaking that 1,000 UK women die from breast cancer each month – this is why Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s work is so vital. If we don’t act now, today, more and more families will face a future without the women they love, so please – for the women you love, sign up today and help us beat breast cancer for good.”

With every hour that passes, another woman in the UK loses her life to breast cancer.

Breakthrough was the first charity of its kind to set up a dedicated breast cancer research centre when no others existed, and now, funding more than 270 world-class scientists.

Breakthrough is dedicated to saving lives through improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer.

Sign up today to receive your very own Breakthrough Bake Off fundraising kit – it’s jam-packed with tips, tools and tasty recipes.
