BAKERS across Dorset are being urged to sign up to this year’s Great Dorset Bake Sale, in aid of Dorset disability charity Diverse Abilities Plus.

The event takes place from today to Sunday, May 11, and many local individuals, companies, clubs and schools have already agreed to take part.

Tesco and Tower Park, Ferndown School and Santander at Bournemouth University are just some of the groups preparing to bake cakes and make a difference to children and adults with disabilities in Dorset.

The charity is still recruiting keen bakers to take part in the event, sponsored by social enterprise Supply Shack, to raise much-needed funds to ensure the 250,000 hours of support it provides, across a range of vital services, can continue.

Beccy Payne, corporate and community fundraiser, said: “Come and join our Great Dorset Bake Sale this year and help raise money for a great cause. If you love cake, love baking or just love eating it, please do come and get involved!”

All event sign-ups will also be in with a chance to win two tickets to the Great British Bake Off’s star Paul Hollywood’s Get Your Bake on Tour in Bournemouth, thanks to Supply Shack.
