If you're heading into town for the Bournemouth Air Festival over the next few days, there are a number of ways to get here:

Park and ride

A park and ride  is operating from Kings Park and it is "strongly recommended" that visitors use the service. Parking is free but there's a charge to use the bus which will drop off at Manor Road (BH1 3EZ) which is a five to 10 minute walk to the event site.

The return ticket allows up to seven people to use the bus service. 

It costs £10 on Thursday and Sunday and £12 on Friday and Saturday. 

The park and ride will be running at the following times: 

Thursday 9.00am – last bus at 11pm
Friday 9am – last bus at 11pm
Saturday 9am – last bus at 11pm
Sunday 9am – last bus at 7pm

Car

The disabled parking drop-off point is at the bottom of Sea Road at Boscombe Pier.

Accessible car-parks are at Sea Road (BH5 1BN) and the Winter Gardens (BH2 5AQ).

There is accessible viewing available at Monkey Island at the end of East Overcliff Drive (BH1 3BZ with 80 car parking spots). 

In addition, entering the event site from Boscombe, there is an accessible viewing area on the promenade outside the Surf Steps School (BH5 1BN).

Bus

MoreBus and Yellow Buses will be running regular services into Bournemouth town centre over the weekend. 

MoreBus 

During the Air Festivala number of services will be running from Poole (m1, m2, 16, 17 and 70), Bournemouth railway station (m1, 13, 17, 50, 70 and X6), Wimborne (13), Southbourne (m2) and Westbourne (m1, m2, 16, 20, 50 and 70). 

MoreBus is running special fares on routes between Bournemouth Square and Bournemouth Railway Station/Interchange this weekend.

An adult and child single is £1, an adult return is £2 and a child return is £1.50. 

Changes to MoreBus stopping arrangements

There will be some changes to our stopping arrangements in Bournemouth town centre during the Air Festival. 

The following services will terminate and start at Westover Road: 13, X1, X2, X3 and X6. 

The m1, m2, N1, N2, 17, 32, Breezer 50 and Breezer 70 services will NOT serve Westover Road and will proceed directly to their stops in Bournemouth Square/Gervis Place.

This will be after 2pm on Thursday and after 10am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Services running through Westover Road before these times will operate as normal.

Diversions signs and route markers will be signposting alternative stopping arrangements so customers can find their stop.

Yellow Buses

Yellow Buses says it is running buses directly from Bournemouth Railway Station to Bournemouth Pier and town centre every two minutes. 

Train

The closest train station to Bournemouth town centre is Bournemouth Railway Station which is located in Holdenhurst Road. There's also a station at Boscombe for Pokesdown

However, South Western Railway workers will be staging a strike between August 30 and September 2. 

As a result, there will be a reduced service between London Waterloo and Weymouth. 

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there will be hourly fast trains between London Waterloo and Bournemouth with an hourly train shuttle service between Bournemouth and Weymouth on Friday and Saturday. 

On Sunday, there will be hourly 'stopper' trains will run between London Waterloo and Poole.
