THE coffers of the Youth Cancer Trust have been boosted by £1,867 thanks to the efforts of a professional drummer.

Ben Clark, 19, organised a concert in Brockenhurst and busked to raise the money.

He was supported by American-based music shop Vic Firth, who tweeted his 13,000 followers on Twitter, as he also donated £200 to one of the shop’s members Daryl, who has been recently diagnosed with cancer.

Ben said: “I had been planning to host a concert in aid of the Youth Cancer Trust for a while.

“It’s something that I think affects a lot of young people, through knowing someone directly who has had the illness or having it yourself, it can be a life changing process.

“This is why I have such amazing respect for the people at Tracy Ann House, they give these young people a great holiday and help everyone forget the hard time they’ve been through and it truly gets them back on their feet.”

If you would like to raise money for the Youth Cancer Trust, you could take part in a mass skydive at Salisbury Airfield on May 5.
