A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision with a car in Lymington this morning.
The incident is believed to have taken place on the A337 Milford Road between South Street and the B3058 Lymington Road around 6.45am.
The vehicle, a silver Peugeot 406, was travelling towards Lymington when it collided with the 49-year-old man.
The pedestrian was taken by road ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
The driver, a 42-year-old man was uninjured.
Milford Road was closed in both directions while police carried out an investigation and recovery of the scene.
The road remained closed for a few hours.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either party prior to it.
