OWLS and nestboxes are the themes of four special free RSPB events taking place over half-term in Poole and Bournemouth.

“Everybody loves owls so I’m really pleased to offer people the opportunity to learn more about their fascinating lives over half-term,” said organiser Sarah-Jane Buckle.

“And if you feel like a bit of woodwork, you can join us at Boscombe Chine Gardens in Bournemouth or Upton Country Park to make some birdboxes.”

Owl activities take place at Poole Museum on Thursday from 11am to 3pm with a bird trail and chance to make a craft owl.

Join a night-time walk through woods at Upton Country Park to listen to owls, and other creatures, on Thursday from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. RSPB members £2, non-members £3, contact Upton Country Park on 01202 261306 or Sarah-Jane Buckle on 07703 607630.

On Saturday make a bird box at Upton Country Park for the birds this spring.

Booking is essential and it costs £4 per bird box. For more details contact the park on 01202 261306
