A MAN who was dragged into a derelict Bournemouth hotel, beaten and robbed has spoken out in a bid to protect others from the same fate.

Brave Kieron Wills, 54, said he was speaking about his ordeal to make people aware of what happened to him.

Kieron, from Westbourne, who suffers from respiratory disease and is unable to work, asked not to be pictured for fear of a repeat attack.

He was walking to the bus stop at St Michael’s Roundabout at around 8.30pm on Sunday, February 5, after drinking at pubs in the Triangle.

Kieron said his memory of the incident was blurry and both he and police are hoping witnesses will come forward.

He told the Daily Echo: “I was walking to the bus stop at St Michael’s Roundabout and abducted off the street into the Diplomat Hotel.

“It was pitch dark and they assaulted me for five to 10 minutes. They robbed me and took my wallet and left me basically semi-conscious on the floor.

“I staggered out into the street and I was phoning the police but a passing taxi driver saw me and called the emergency services.

“It was dreadful. If they had just wanted my wallet I would have give it to them.”

Kieron said a bus stop that was closer to the Triangle had been removed, leaving people to walk up to the roundabout, close to the disused hotel in Durley Chine Road.

He added: “I think it’s so dangerous to be taken into a place and assaulted like that.

“There are so many women that walk around to that bus stop. They’re still looking for one guy so people are still at risk.”

Police said they were called at 8.50pm after Kieron was found in West Hill Road and a 24-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested the next day. He has been bailed until the start of March.

Witnesses should call police on 101 or contact them through the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
