DIG out the glow sticks, whistles and err, Vicks VapoRub as the O2 Academy Bournemouth takes a trip back to 1992. Fantazia Revolution celebrates 20 years since the legendary club night held one of the most memorable events in Bournemouth.

Summertime at Matchams Park attracted more than 15,000 ravers and created motorway tailbacks that made primetime national news.

The event has gone down in Bournemouth clubbing folklore.

Those lucky enough to be there witnessed magical performances from a legendary DJ line-up.

We caught up with original DJ’s Slipmatt and Sy who will headline this Saturday at the O2 Academy.

“That rave at Matchams was the favourite show in my entire career. I drove down to Bournemouth and was shocked at the amount of people.

“The whole experience was incredible, especially with the sun coming up at 5am,” says DJ Sy.

DJ Slipmatt added: “It was a long time ago.

The sun was rising over this big sea of happy people. It’s one of my best memories.”

Fast forward two decades and Fantazia Revolution offers a reunion of ravers old and new and a host of other original artists.

“You’ll get quite a few youngsters that weren’t around at the time, but probably had brothers and sisters who went raving 20 years ago.

“Now they can go and experience what it was like,” says DJ Sy.

Top one, nice one, sorted.
