A PIZZA shop lost its bid for a temporary licence to deliver alcohol with food.
Centro Pizza at The Lansdowne Crescent in Bournemouth town centre made the application to the council.
The shop wanted to make the deliveries on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18.
However a Bournemouth University security worker claimed there was already a problem in the area with drunken student behaviour.
Cleo Smith said in a statement that students were hurling bottles from their windows in Oxford Road.
Dorset Police also objected on the grounds that deliveries could lead to robberies of delivery men, increased violence and more alcohol-related crime.
The council’s licensing board heard the application on Tuesday and decided to issue a counter notice which meant that the application was unsuccessful.
