A BOURNEMOUTH girl will make her Channel 4 debut tonight as a fresher’s week student in the teenage soap opera Hollyoaks.

Tamaryn Payne plays the highly-strung perfectionist Annalise, one of five new characters debuting in the Chester-based show at 6.30pm.

The 22-year-old, who grew up in Winton and Boscombe, is a former pupil of Bournemouth School for Girls.

“I used to watch Hollyoaks every day when I was bit younger,” she told the Echo.

“The girls are lovely but it’s a bit weird. I get still get a bit star struck!”

Tamaryn took an acting BTEC through Bournemouth and Poole College (BPC) then a studied for a degree at the Arts Education Schools in London.

Victoria Clark, lecturer in performing arts at BPC, said: “The team are incredibly proud. Tammy was a straight Distinction student who worked incredibly hard.

“It is no surprise she is doing so well – she was always one to watch!”

This is Tamaryn’s big TV break but she previously starred in the music video for Nothing Left by the rock band Rise to Remain.

Her opening episode was first broadcast on E4 on Friday but she laughed beforehand: “I’m not going to tell my family so I can watch it first and then we are going to watch it together.”

Her mum lives in Boscombe and her dad lives in Bransgore.

Hollyoaks describes her character as a ‘well groomed PR student who likes to keep things calm, organised and under (her) control’.

Tamaryn, who has been filming since July and now lives in Liverpool, said: “Annalise is a bit insecure but there’s a reason why she gets stressed.”
