THE best-selling children's book and award-winning play, War Horse, is coming to the big screen - and a trailer has just trotted its way onto the internet.
Michael Morpurgo’s epic adventure is directed by Steven Spielberg and intended for release in January 2012.
The story begins with the friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert (Jeremy Irvine), who tames and trains him, but they are forced apart due to the outbreak of World War I.
The film follows the journey of the horse as he moves through the war, coming into contact with British officers, German soldiers and a French farmer and his granddaughter.
