Cherries are today hoping to finally clinch the signing AFC Wimbledon midfielder Steven Gregory – with one in and one out at Dean Court.

The ongoing saga regarding Rhoys Wiggins is also expected to be resolved with the wantaway defender set to complete a move to Watford.

Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell has – in the past few minutes – confirmed to the Daily Echo that transfer fees have been agreed with both clubs for Gregory and Wiggins.

Gregory is due to meet boss Lee Bradbury at Dean Court later today to discuss personal terms and then undergo a medical should their talks prove successful.

While Mitchell declined to reveal the fee involved, it is believed to be around £55,000 with Cherries having had their first two bids rejected by the Dons.

Mitchell also declined to elaborate on the finer details of the Wiggins deal, although a figure of around £250,000 is likely to have tipped the balance.

Wiggins, who has made no secret of his desire to progress his career elsewhere, is today set to discuss personal terms with new Watford boss Sean Dyche.

Both deals are understood to have been finalised late last night following a day of protracted negotiations with Watford and AFC Wimbledon.

Gregory, who has been on Cherries’ radar for a number of months, helped the Dons clinch a place in the Football League following their Conference play-off final penalty shootout victory over Luton last month.

The Aylesbury-born 24-year-old came through the youth ranks at Wycombe Wanderers before joining AFC Wimbledon two years ago following spells with Havant & Waterlooville and Hayes & Yeading. He has also been capped at England C level.
