THE man found dead in the grounds of Poole High School on Tuesday has been named as builder Donald Morgan.

The 22-year-old’s body was discovered on the school site, off Wimborne Road, by a caretaker early on Tuesday morning.

Mr Morgan attended Rossmore Community College and was not a former Poole High student, though members of his family were ex-pupils of the school.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious and have now confirmed the 22-year-old died as a result of hanging.

Friends and family yesterday began paying tributes to the keen footballer on his Facebook page.

Hollie Harbron, Mr Morgan’s girlfriend, said: “You weren’t only my boyfriend, but my best friend too.

“You are my rock and will always be the love of my life.”

Mr Morgan also had several brothers and sisters living in the Poole area.

His sister, Sammy, said: “You’re one in a million.

“You’re my big bro – you can’t be gone.”

Other tributes recalled Mr Morgan’s “beaming smile” and “heart of gold”, while football team-mates also spoke of their shock at the news.

Poole High will remain shut today while the police investigation continues.

The circumstances of the incident remain unknown.

Students were due to return to school from the Easter break yesterday but will now not return until after the forthcoming Bank Holiday weekend.

In a statement posted on the school website, headmaster Chris Lewis said it was remaining shut as a mark of respect to Mr Morgan and his family.

“I hope you will support me in this decision,” he said.

“I wish to be able to be in a position to give parents and students full details of the incident when students return to school, and to put into place any necessary support should the man have been known to any of our students, parents or staff.”

An inquest into Mr Morgan’s death is likely to be opened today.
