MILLIONAIRES, famous faces, sun, sea and stretches of golden sand – Poole’s famous Sandbanks district has it all.

And this spring, the world’s fourth most expensive postcode will host its very own boat show.

Bosses at Salterns Marina started planning the May extravaganza when the Liverpool Boat Show was suddenly pulled last month.

The 5 Gold Anchor Marina setting has already attracted more than 70 boats, with world class brands including Sunseeker, Princess and Fairline all keen to launch their latest models at the free weekend.

Russell Hayden, from Salterns brokerage in Salterns Way, said: “Like a lot of the marine industry, we were all ready to go to Liverpool when it was cancelled.

“As we’ve got the perfect location on the south coast we decided to set up our own.”

“Southampton’s a huge show so we won’t be competing just yet,” he joked. “But all the key players will be here and if we build this up year on year – who knows?”

Lloyds Property Group will have a stall, making this a “one stop shop” for any stars looking to set up home.

In the past, Johnny Depp, rapper Tinie Tempah and singer Lenny Kravitz have all been spotted checking out mansions in the hope of joining Sandbanks resident Spurs boss Harry Redknapp.

Jane Cass said: “After Piers Morgan’s documentary on Sandbanks, we don’t need to sell the name to anyone.

“It’s become a brand and is as well known for its Blue Flag beaches as Millionare’s Row, where you could stumble across a footballer or two.

“It’s got a lifestyle people aspire to plus a key location for cruising on the south coast.”

Luxury 60 foot cruisers will moor up alongside dinghies and jet skis, for those on a smaller budget.

“There really is not another boat show like it,” Jane added.

“It will be a great introduction to the season.”

Opens 10am-5pm on May 7 and 8. Visit sandbanksboatshow.co.uk.
