JEWELLERY worth more than £4,500 was stolen when burglars raided a flat in the heart of Lymington.

The haul, which included a wedding ring with a double row of yellow and white diamonds, a diamond and sapphire engagement ring and four pairs of earrings, was stolen between February 9 and St Valentine's Day from a flat in St Thomas Street.

PC Donna Kay said: "We would advise people to ensure that any valuable items kept in their home are kept locked away and out of view.

"Please remain vigilant, ensure your home is locked and secure when you go out and report any suspicious behaviour you witness in the area to police immediately."
