CONCERNS over children playing next to a busy road on a Christchurch estate has led to a fundraising campaign by local residents.
The Hillary Green Child Safety Project wants to raise money for a metal fence with shrubbery to go across Hillary Green in Somerford.
Prompted by the rise in traffic along the road, residents raised concerns about youngsters chasing balls into the street into the path of oncoming traffic.
And although plans have been approved for the fencing cash needs to be raised for it to go-ahead.
The residents will be staffing a market stall at Christchurch on Monday with coffee and cake available at the Mayor's Parlour throughout the day.
