A MAN on trial over Lapland New Forest has said that he did not make any money from the event.

Henry Mears, 60, is on trial at Bristol Crown Court over the failed festive attraction at Matchams, near Ringwood, which ran over Christmas 2008.

Henry Mears, from Brighton, denies charges of misleading customers and said Lapland delivered everything that was promised.

He told the jury yesterday that he received a cheque for £100,000 from his brother Victor, 67, who set up the attraction, but the cheque bounced.

Victor Mears, also from Brighton, denies the same charges.

The case continues.
