A £10,000 sum has been set aside to refurbish Ferndown’s controversial Dugdell Close play area.
Last year the town council accidentally moved to knock the popular playground on the Heatherlands Estate down, not realising what they were voting for.
The decision was quickly withdrawn, and now councillors are following through on their pledge to replace some of the equipment, which is beginning to look old and tired.
Ideas for replacing the parts over the next five years will be discussed by the environment committee next Monday.
Councillor Steve Lugg, who’s leading the project, said: “I was delighted to hear the Mayor make a public promise of council support for Dugdell Close playground over five years.
“It is one of the most important community assets the town council owns.”
