A BOMB disposal squad was called to Blandford Camp yesterday.
Experts from 701 EOD squadron from Tidworth, in Wiltshire, were called to the camp after a member of the camp's civilian staff reported an unidentified object.
A 400-metre cordon was set up at 8.45am and staff working within the area were moved to another part of the camp while bomb disposal officers investigated.
Garrison Staff Officer, Lt Col (rtd) Bob Brannigan, said the object was later identified as a training device and the cordon was lifted at about 11.20am.
"The civilian worker saw something he wasn't happy with and quite correctly reported it. We went through our routine procedures which worked very effectively," he said.
