DORSET Music Forum is piloting a new program to make live music more accessible to younger people by providing incentives and offers for people under 16.

And to kick the scheme off, under-16s can get tickets for £8 to see Australia’s biggest selling artist, Xavier Rudd, at the BIC on December 4.

“It’s so important that we get more young people to experience live music early on,” says Trevor Hill, co-founder of DMF.

“If the project is successful and demand is there, it will encourage the industry to do more to cater for all ages.”

Andy White, concert promoter from Board-riders Live, adds: “The live industry needs new audiences and we’ll do whatever we can to encourage young people to check out these acts, tell us what they think and who they want to see in the future.”

To be eligible for the special tickets you must be under 16 and register on dorsetmusic.com.
