THE Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre is celebrating its 2,000th visitor since being taken over by Brockenhurst College.
The centre was on the brink of closure when the college took over its management in April.
It offers extensive facilities, including rock climbing, sailing, windsurfing, navigation, kayaking and archery, to those who study there and to visitors. This month environmental education will be added to the portfolio.
“The last four months have been a really busy and enjoyable time for the team,” said centre head Ted Rogers. “We always felt sure that this amazing location could be brought back to life and become an asset to the community.”
