AN “open air classroom” has been secured for Blandford.
The town’s Rotarians, historians and school leaders have joined forces to take on a 25-year lease on Angus Wood – a lightly wooded area near White Cliff Mill Street.
Rotarian Nic Nicol, the chairman of the newly-formed Blandford Environmental Trust, said a friends’ group would be set up to “study and cherish” the area near Damory Street.
An opening ceremony will be held at Angus Wood at 4pm tomorrow. Professor Sir Ghillean Prance, the former head of Kew Gardens, will deliver the museum’s annual Brodie Lecture in the Parish Centre at 7.30pm.
