BOURNEMOUTH town centre and Lower Pleasure Gardens will provide the setting for a packed programme of free entertainment this summer season.

The latest fashion trends will be showcased on a catwalk in The Square on June 11 and 12, the first Bournemouth Summer Live event.

Bournemouth Gardens will see the return of the Big Screen, showing all the Wimbledon action from June 21 until July 4.

Family-friendly films will be screened from July 5 until July 16.

On June 13 Lazy Town’s Sportacus is set to captivate children and opera fans are expected to flock to the Lower Gardens on June 18 where Carmen will be broadcast live from Spain’s Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia Valencia.

A marching bands fiesta will bring Bournemouth town centre alive to the sound of brass and woodwind on June 27 and July 1.

Bournemouth University arts department will present Public Domain, a new event in the Lower Gardens, from July 16 until July 18.

The weekend starts with performances from renowned musicians Keith Tippett and Julie Driscoll.

Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra musicians will improvise to short films by Buster Keaton and generic animations from artist Stephen Bell.

There will also be workshops on animation and storytelling with screenings of Wall-E, Where the Wild Things Are and Bob Cotton’s Zeit-Eye with a special screening of the celebrated dance film Routes by Alex Reuben.
