Dorset Rock Online launched less than a year ago as the online home of Dorset's growing rock music scene, covering Acoustic to Metal and everything in between. The website today draws daily hits well into the hundreds and this momentum is on the increase.

With support from a fantastic team of local music lovers, writers and photographers, creator and Editor Dan Renton is working hard to steer the number one resource for rock music fans in Dorset. In a little over six months the website has expanded to include new features such as a forum and a free music downloads section to further support local music. Dorset Rock Online is kept up to date with features, news, reviews, articles and listings of local events, promoters, venues and bands.

"It's amazing to see Dorset Rock Online growing so quickly. It's a labour of love as I also have a full time job - the website is a project in my spare time." Says Dan Renton.

Dan continues to comment; “Many years after its release, Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ changed my life. That’s what rock and music in general is all about. It does change lives and its infectious and powerful, which makes you want to react. Whether this means travelling 70-odd miles to see a band, throwing yourself around at a gig or just rocking out when listening to music home alone.”

Dorset Rock Online is about supporting a community based on this passion and energy. After years of live band photography and working on, promoting and DJ-ing rock events, Dan has recognised that the rock community here in Dorset would benefit from a central hub - somewhere that tells you what’s happening, who’s doing it and where.

Dan believes that Dorset Rock Online has been a long time coming. "Other areas of the UK have something similar to support their live music scene, It's about time we had something to sing the praises of Dorset’s talent and inform local gig goers and music fans. My vision is simple, to support our rock scene!"
