UK Fitness Master Kris Cann is launching a new personal training centre in Bournemouth this weekend, with the promise: "I can get absolutely anybody fit."

Three years ago, the fitness instructor from Bournemouth scooped first prize in the Fitness Industry Association's prestigious UK Fitness Masters Championships, beating tough competition from top trainers throughout the whole of the country.

With this accolade behind him, he vowed to get his own personal training business off the ground. And this Saturday sees his dreams turn into fruition with the launch of KK Fitness.

"Unlike other personal trainers in the area, I offer exclusive use of a private gym," said 28-year-old Kris, formerly of Fitness First.

"Only one person is trained with us at a time, so it's ideal for people who are self-conscious about working out in front of other people."

With a holistic approach to training, Kris refuses simply to put his clients onto a string of machines.

"I prefer functional training - re-creating movements used in everyday life using free weights, resistance bands and Swiss balls.

"I believe the body should be trained as a whole system. Fitness is so much more than just 'going down the gym'.

"That's why I work in partnership with other professionals in the attempt to offer the best all-round fitness programme."

Kris's business partner Kristin Hughes, for example, has been a trainer for six years, with extensive experience in swimming training. Nutritionist Barbara Cox can help kick bad dietary habits while registered physical therapist Craig Ainsworth will be on hand with medical acupuncture, spinal manipulation and remedial massage.

Kris is positive he can get absolutely anybody fit - "providing they really want to", he stressed.

Past success stories include Jon Holdaway who has retained his 2004 position in the first team for Bournemouth Rugby at the tender age of 39, and Anne Hughes who feels like a new woman after having lost seven stone.

And to prove his mettle, Kris is putting the Daily Echo's Newspaper Sales Manager, Steve Court, through his paces - with the promise of noticeable results within only a few weeks.

We'll keep you posted with Steve's progress. But in the meantime, KK Fitness is offering Daily Echo readers the exclusive chance to win four weeks of personal training - comprising three sessions a week - worth £360.

All you have to do for a chance to win is tell us, in no more than 20 words, why you want to get fit.

Send your entries on a postcard to: KK Fitness Competition, Promotions Department, Daily Echo, Richmond Hill, Bournemouth, BH2 6HH. The closing date is Thursday 27 October. Usual Echo rules apply. You must be over 18 to enter.
