A man has died after running away from hospital.
Police were called after the 22-year-old left a local hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
He was detained in Alum Chine under the Mental Health Act some forty minutes later and then taken to St Ann’s.
However a short time later he was taken from St Ann’s by ambulance to Poole Hospital where he died.
No formal identification has yet taken place.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission has been informed, as is standard procedure when someone dies in or after police custody.
