A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 26-year-old woman was found fatally injured in Bournemouth.

Police were called to the car park of April Court in Wellington Road at around 12.04am this morning after the woman was found by a man. They are investigating claims that she may have suffered stab wounds and fallen from a window.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to Poole Hospital for treatment but died.

A pathologist will carry out a forensic post-mortem today at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester.

Dawn Wood lives across the road from where the incident happened.

She said: “I heard a blood curdling scream that woke me up and then some glass breaking but I was too scared to look outside.”

Eugene Argana and his wife Lovejoy were in the flat below. He said: “I was sleeping but my wife said there was banging upstairs and screaming. I think it was really scary.”

A team of forensic investigators spent the day examining a blood trail that led to the entrance to the block of flats and scoured the surrounding area for anything else that could be of interest.

A 32-year-old man, who is believed to be known to the victim, has been arrested and will be questioned by detectives at Bournemouth today.

The area remains sealed off for forensics officers to examine the area.
