SINGER songwriter Frank’s two previous albums detailed the life experiences of someone in their mid-20s (unashamedly enjoying youth and refusing to grow up), while Poetry of the Deed is more about seizing the moment.
The title track is guaranteed to ignite the fire inside anyone who feels despondent with the lyric “let’s grab life by the throat and live it to pieces”.
Sunday Night tells of the dreaded end-of-weekend feeling, and subsequently keeping the working week at bay, and Try This at Home is a rousing, fist-in-the-air anthem.
It’s not as immediate and less punk-driven than Frank’s back-catalogue, but his honest storytelling about the journey that is life, whether chronicling everyday detail or home truths, is still very much at the heart and can speak to us all.
