A car in a million is set to be sold by auctioneers in North Dorset.
The millionth Morris Minor to roll off the production line is about to go under the hammer of Sherborne auctioneers, Charterhouse. Matthew Whitney of the town’s Long Street sale rooms said the car, resplendent in a limited edition lilac paint job and badged as a Morris Minor 1,000,000, could fetch up to £30,000.
“We are always fortunate to receive some interesting cars and motorbikes in the sale, but this particular Morris Minor is probably the best known Morris in the car world as it is the millionth Minor off the production line,” said Mr Whitney.
The Morris Minor was the first ever British production car to sell 1,000,000 cars and was produced for nearly 25 years from 1948.
The car will be sold in a special auction of vintage vehicles at the Bath and West Showground on November 8.
