Between us, in our excitement, we managed to leave the car door open which we discovered when we returned an hour later. We decided to wait by the entrance around 10 minutes before the opening time of 10am. We were soon joined by a group of swimmers waiting patiently for the doors to open. Once inside we were able to appreciate this lovely 50-metre pool with almost a pavilion type entrance in to the poolside café. This was another seawater pool and provided me with a wonderful swim of just 32 lengths. We got chatting to a couple of ladies who were enjoying their swim and they wished us luck for the rest of our challenge and were soon joined by a couple of gentlemen. These were all friends of Stonehaven Pool and were clearly proud of their local liquid asset. The friends had obviously been very busy gaining weekly local sponsors such as the Creel Fish Shop and the Royal Bank of Scotland. We would have loved to have been there when they held their weekly midnight swims on Wednesdays during July and August, A top pool!
