A conservation charity is inviting the public to 'Pull a Pine' this month in a hands-on, festive conservation event where visitors will help remove invasive pine trees and take a cut tree home for Christmas.
The RSPB charity is hosting 'Arne’s Dorset Christmas Festival: Pull a Pine', on Sunday, November 29 from 10am to 3pm.
Alongside pine pulling, the family-friendly day will also feature live music, festive food and mulled cider from a tent on the heath, plus shopping at the reserve café and shop.

The charity said: "While we love trees, what nature needs is the right trees in the right place.
"Pine can quickly take over, blocking out the light and pushing wildlife out as they grow.
"If allowed the trees will completely take over this very rare environment."
Visitors are advised to wear sturdy footwear and layers, and bring something to wrap their tree plus rope or straps to secure it.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, and dogs are welcome on short leads.
Booking via the RSP website is required.
