A big change has been made to Heroes chocolate tubs for the first time since their launch nearly three decades ago.

Cadbury fans can now customise their own tub of Heroes ahead of Christmas.

The new option is available through the Cadbury Shop, an online store that allows customers to personalise their favourite chocolate treats.

Shoppers can choose exactly which chocolates go into their Heroes tub, whether it’s an entire box of Twirls, a 50/50 split, or a mix of classics.

Kirsty Hunter, vice president of marketing for Mondelez International UK&I, said: "Cadbury has always been about generosity and bringing people closer together.

"The new Cadbury Shop gives us an exciting way to do exactly that ahead of Christmas, combining the chocolates the nation loves with wonderfully personal gifting experiences, and helping us serve our customers better than ever before.

"This is a huge milestone for Cadbury, and just the beginning of what we want to build."

The Heroes Pick & Mix is available in two sizes: a 1kg box for £35 or a 1.25kg box for £40.

The service is only available online and cannot be accessed in supermarkets.

In addition to the Heroes tubs, the Cadbury Shop also offers a Cadbury Postal Selection Box featuring larger 180g chocolate bars, including Fruit & Nut and Dairy Milk.

Rare Cadbury chocolate returns to UK supermarkets

In other Cadbury news, rare chocolate treats have returned to supermarkets in the UK.

The Cadbury Dairy Milk Winter Mint Crisp bar is a popular flavour among Brits but is only available in the months leading up to Christmas.

The bar is back on sale at an array of UK supermarkets as the big day edges closer.

The Winter Mint Crisp is part of a wider range of Cadbury Christmas products that have already started appearing in stores, including Cadbury Biscoff Filled Centres and Dairy Milk Buttons Smash Baubles.

As well as this, a rare Cadbury favourite has returned to British shelves after nearly two decades.

Astros, space-themed chocolate and candy balls with a biscuit centre, are now available at B&M stores for £1.30.

The popular chocolate brand first launched the treat in the UK in 1997 as a competitor to Smarties and M&Ms.

They were discontinued in 2008, but have now been spotted on UK supermarket shelves.

Their return has sparked excitement among UK shoppers.
