A COMMUNITY fireworks event has been postponed due to severe weather, but organisers say the celebration will still go ahead at a later date.
Broadstone Fireworks event has been postponed due to Storm Austen and will now take place on Saturday, November 14.
In a statement, organisers said: "Storm Austen has put a pause on our party.
"Due to the severe weather forecast, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone this Saturday’s fireworks.
"Keeping our visitors, volunteers and everyone involved safe comes first."
All tickets will remain valid for the new date.

The display is organised by the Broadstone Middle School PTA and held in partnership with Broadstone First School, with proceeds supporting educational resources, extracurricular activities and school improvements.
Organisers said: "It’s a not-for-profit event designed to bring families together and celebrate the best of Broadstone on an autumn evening filled with colour, laughter and shared excitement."
More than 50 volunteers help make the event possible, handling logistics, food service and visitor support.
Organisers said: "It’s that shared effort – the smiles at the gates, the teamwork behind the scenes, the laughter as the last firework fades – that makes Broadstone Fireworks so much more than a display."
