Harry Redknapp on Bournemouth vs Sociedad, Ludek Miklosko & Liverpool

If you'd told me back when I was boss that we'd be playing them in back-to-back competitive fixtures, I would have thought you were off your head.

I'd have thought you were crazy, what a dream. It's incredible.

Bournemouth head to Spain after another good performance against Brentford despite not getting three points.

I went to the game and they should have won. They missed three great chances really to have won the game, but again, another good performance.

I love watching them play.

It's carried on for me from last year, great intensity, the closing, the pressing, the passing, the movement.

It's excellent.

They just need that win. Really, they're unlucky, I think, not to have another six points on the board, really. Their play has deserved that, I think.

I think at the end of the day, I think they're playing very well.

The boy Scott is absolutely top drawer. The more I see him, the more I think, oh my God, what a fantastic footballer. Absolute class.

They sold the left back to Liverpool and they bring this boy in, Adrien Truffert, who's a fantastic player.

Smithy, what a pro he is. Adam Smith, I gave his debut at Tottenham all those years ago and he’s still absolute top drawer. What a professional, what a player.

The goals will come if they continue to create as many chances as they do.

You never know in football. I had a spell when I was at Portsmouth we were conceding goals. So I decided to change our system and we played 4-5-1.

I went with five across the midfield, two wide, one up. I thought three in midfield would make us a bit stronger defensively.

So that was the new plan.

We played Reading on the Saturday and we beat them 7-4. We scored seven with one up front.

It's crazy, isn't it? Before, we thought we’d keep it tight, we hadn’t been scoring, let's see if we can get a 1-0 win today, and we end up winning 7-4.

So you never know, but we move quickly onto the Real Sociedad game in the Europa League.

What a game.

Atlético Madrid beat them at the weekend, which is Atlético Madrid, a real top side. There’s so much to look forward to. What a great trip for the fans.

I loved managing in Europe. Absolutely loved it. It’s so different. The players all love it, they were great nights.

We’ve got Milan coming to Dean Court, and obviously we played Milan when I was at Tottenham, home and away, they’re great games to look forward to.

I think they'll get a positive result in Spain. I really do.

I’m sending my best wishes to Tommy Heffernan again as he continues his recovery from a stroke, and I lost my former goalkeeper at West Ham, Ludek Miklosko, earlier this week after a battle with cancer.

He was a great, great man, a great professional, with a lovely family. He was a top-class goalkeeper and a fantastic person.

I’ll be watching Bournemouth on Thursday night before attention turns to Liverpool on Sunday.

Andoni Iraola will get a fantastic reception, which he thoroughly deserves, and his staff are coming back too.

We've got Tommy Elphick and we've got Coops, Shaun Cooper, coming back. They'll get a great reception that they thoroughly deserve.

They did a fantastic job at Bournemouth, so it'll be great for him to come back.

But normally when the managers come back, they normally find it tough. Eddie came back a few times and played against Bournemouth and he always found it difficult.

And I think Liverpool find it difficult this week. I think Bournemouth have got a big chance.

So come on the Cherries – let’s get a result against Sociedad and Liverpool!
