A travel agent is marking 40 years of helping customers book their dream holidays across Dorset.

Julie Furness, who works at the Hays Travel branch in Poole, began her career in 1986 at the age of 17, starting as a travel consultant at Bath Travel in Ferndown.

Since then, she has worked in branches across the county, including Westbourne, and says her passion for the job has never faded.

She said: "I have done all sorts of things over the years, and my career has taken me from Ferndown, to Westbourne, to Poole.

"I have never got bored of it.

"I just absolutely love it, and I never want to leave."

Ms Furness now works three days a week as a travel consultant in Poole, following Hays Travel’s acquisition of Bath Travel in 2013.

She has held several senior roles throughout her career and is known for her long-standing relationships with customers.

Clive Hill, regional sales manager for Hays Travel in Dorset and the New Forest, said: "Julie really is an amazing colleague.

"With her impeccable service, willingness to go the extra mile and attention to detail, it is little wonder she has so many loyal customers."
