A new theatre production is set to combat stereotypes of masculinity.
Ferndown Upper School’s all-boys acting company, Our Direction, is performing their show Boys Can, which is based on the experiences of the young men in the company.
The show is part of the Boys' Impact Conference and will take place at Arts University Bournemouth's Palace Court Theatre in Bournemouth on Wednesday, September 9.
Alongside the performance, guests will be able to network, view an exhibition which was curated for the House of Commons called Being a Boy, and take part in a post-show discussion.

The show itself starts at 7pm and will finish at around 7.30pm.
The performance is more than just a show for these boys.
It is a bond through theatre and an opportunity to have their voices heard on stage.
It tells the story of Alex, a young boy who goes on a journey navigating his daily challenges and struggles, his interactions with peers, loved ones, the online world and decisions that young people are often presented with.
With boys receiving messages about having to ‘man up’ and ‘what it means to be a man’, this performance provides some reflections on these issues and engages with what young men truly think and have to say.
