BCP Council is conducting an annual electoral register canvass over the next few months.

This update ensures the electoral register contains current details of residents eligible for voting.

This usually happens between the months of August and November with the revised register being published by December 1.

BCP is required by law to contact every household to obtain and confirm the names of residents.

To make the registration process simpler and cost-efficient, the council will utilise emails and text messages to connect with residents whose email addresses they have on file.

These emails, dispatched from ‘BCP Council Electoral Services’ through the GOV.Notify service, will contain a link directing residents to the Civica Election Services website to respond.

Instructions will be clearly stated on the communication that is sent to you if a response is needed.

After collecting responses, the council will update the register by removing non-residents and inviting newly-resident individuals to register separately.
