Coastal walks in Dorset are set to take place in September as part of a wider mental health challenge.

The events are being held in Bournemouth and Swanage and are part of the Walk for Life campaign, an effort to promote suicide prevention, mental wellbeing, and community connection.

Matt Holman and Katie Le Flem, ambassadors for HOLHUMAN, will lead the Dorset walks on September 19 and 20 as part of his One Million Steps in One Month – Walk for Life challenge.

Mr Holman said: "Every step represents hope.

"Every mile is an opportunity to have a conversation that could change, or even save, a life.

"The Dorset coastline is one of the most beautiful places in the country, and I'd love local people to come and walk alongside us.

"Whether you join us for ten minutes, an hour or the whole day, every person who walks becomes part of something much bigger.

"Together we can remind people that they are never alone."

The walks include a 21-mile route from Boscombe Pier to Poole via Hengistbury Head and back, starting at 8am on September 19.

On September 20, a 16-mile walk will take place from Studland Bay to Swanage, starting at 10am.

Members of the public are encouraged to join for as little or as much of either walk as they wish.
