A popular countryside event in Dorset is now more affordable thanks to a recent Government scheme.
This year’s Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show has reduced adult advance ticket prices from £20 to £17, following the Government’s new Great British Savings scheme and a VAT cut on family attractions.
The discount applies to tickets purchased before August 13.

"As one of Dorset’s most loved rural days out, we work hard to keep our entry prices competitive despite rising costs of putting on a show of this scale.
"Children under 5 go free and we also offer many free activities once people are in the showground, with over 30 fun and free things for families to enjoy.
"Picnics are welcome too if people want to save on costs of eating out."
The VAT reduction allows organisers to pass savings directly to visitors while delivering two days of livestock competitions, rural crafts, countryside demonstrations, and hands-on family fun.
This year’s show will also feature the high-energy equine sport of horseboarding, which sees a horse, rider, and mountainboarder team race through a slalom course.
