New Hythe deli with the best coffee and sausage rolls around

Oak & Olive opened in the heart of Hythe nearly three months ago, offering great coffee, fresh pastries, paninis, and a carefully selected range of local produce, meats, cheeses, bakery goods, fruit and veg.

Proudly supporting local suppliers, the South Street Centre venue offers eat in and takeaway options.

Gemma Clark, from the deli, said: "Things are going well, but we are keen to get our name out there as many people are still to find us.

"We're known for having the best coffee and sausage rolls around according to our customers!

"We are a bit different as we have a shop inside the coffee shop selling essentials. It's mostly New Forest or Hampshire produce from local suppliers.

"Where else can you do your food shop and enjoy hot food and a coffee at the same time? Pop down and see us – we’ve got a bit of everything!"

Oak & Olive staff pride themselves on the simple things done right.

The deli stocks meat from Alfords Butchers in Winsor, as well as a whole host of deli meats, local jams and the like. Expect to see jam from Minstead, Lymington strawberries and ready meals from Christchurch in stock, as well as New Forest Ice Cream, New Forest Shortbread, Hampshire cheeses and books from Dibden Purlieu based author and illustrator Simon Chadwick.

The fridge is always bursting with fresh fruit and vegetables, plus a delicious range ready for your next picnic lunch or grazing board.

At the fresh food counter, enjoy paninis, pasties, pizza slices, salad bowls and lots of sweet treats.

There's freshly baked sourdough loaves, a huge selection of pasties and pies, cakes, doughnuts and more.

Freezer favourites include a fantastic selection of Hampshire & Dorset ready meals — from moussaka to rich lamb rogan josh or a classic fish pie.

Oak & Olive also stocks fresh eggs from Chapel Farm and a large range of sauces from teriyaki to katsu curry.

While you're there, treat yourself to pancakes, a Ploughman's lunch, soup of the day, a cream tea, or a steak and ale pie and mash, not forgetting a milkshake or colourful Ube Iced Latte to wash it down with.

The gift range includes everything from teddies to bath bombs, via delicious fudge and the amazing handmade crochet creations from young local creator Hooked by Charlie. Father's Day hampers are currently doing a roaring trade.
