Paul Kelly, festival director, said: "Stompin’ is run by a small unpaid voluntary team.
"We get no council funding and a key source of our income comes through donations from the public on the day.
"We have become a victim of our own success.
"Last year the Quomps was so packed with picnickers that it was really difficult to walk through the crowds and ask for donations.
"So, this year, we are setting up designated entry points to the Quomps and asking for donations on arrival.
"This will also help us monitor numbers of guests and ensure site safety as the council have reminded us there is maximum of 4,999 people allowed on the site at any one time.
"We are doing everything we can to maintain the much-loved family-friendly spirit of Stompin’ whilst adapting to changing times.
"We look forward to welcoming old and new friends and families to this year’s festival."
The festival will also include bars and food traders, crafts stalls plus a Zumba demonstration and children’s fairground rides.

Adrian Dwyer, founder of Stompin’, said: "When I set up Stompin’ in 1994, I knew there was an opportunity to do something fun and creative for the people of Christchurch.
"I had no idea it would still be thriving 30 years later and that it would have grown so popular.
"My successors have organized another excellent programme.
"I can’t wait to enjoy it!"
Organisers say the event is open to everyone, not just jazz fans, and encourages anyone who enjoys live music and a good atmosphere to attend.
Full programme details are available at the Stompin' website.
