A care home in the New Forest is bringing the community together with a day full of football fun.

Sway Place in Sway, Lymington, run by Care UK, is hosting a football-themed celebration on Friday, June 19 from 2pm to 4pm.

The event, open to the public, will include a 'hit the target' challenge and a penalty shootout competition where visitors can take on residents and staff.

A sweepstake, live music, and pub snacks will round out an afternoon designed to capture the excitement of the summer of sport.

John Morton, an 83-year-old resident, said: "As a proud Scot, I’m really looking forward to cheering on Scotland.

"Scottish football has such a rich history, and it brings back fond memories of watching matches and celebrating with family and friends.

"It will be lovely to share those memories and enjoy the atmosphere with everyone at Sway Place."

The event is part of Care UK’s 'Goal-den Moments' initiative, which aims to bring generations together and help residents reminisce about cherished football memories with the local community.

Francis Bosompim, Home Manager at Sway Place, said: “As football fever sweeps the country, we can’t wait to welcome the community for some matchday magic."
