Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans will see a few schedule changes this week due to ITV1’s football coverage.
The soaps regularly get moved around for football matches, and this week is no different.
A Women’s European Qualifier match and the Men’s World Cup will disrupt soap schedules this week.
Here’s what we know about the changes and which episodes the TV schedule shake-up affects.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street to see schedule changes this week
ITV1 will air the Women's European Qualifier, which will see England and Ukraine battle it out on Tuesday, June 9, with coverage starting at 7.30pm and kick-off at 8pm.
This means the football match will run over the usual 8pm Emmerdale and 8.30pm Corrie slots.
That’s not all though as both soaps will start earlier on Wednesday, June 10 to allow for the Men’s England v Costa Rica match to go ahead.
Coverage of the football match begins on ITV1 at 8pm with kick-off at 9pm so Emmerdale will air at 7pm while Corrie will be available to watch from 7.30pm.
On Thursday, June 11, Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans will not see new episodes of either soap as the World Cup opening ceremony will be broadcast from 6.15pm, followed by the tournament’s first match at 7.50pm (kick-off at 8pm).
Fans can get some soap time back on Friday, June 12 though as Emmerdale will air for an hour from 8pm, while Coronation Street will be available to watch from 9pm for an hour.
No episodes of the soaps will be available to watch on ITV1 on Sunday, June 14.

From January 2026, the broadcaster introduced a “soaps power hour” on weekdays with 30-minute Emmerdale episodes at 8pm and 30-minute Coronation Street episodes at 8.30pm.
Coronation Street previously aired for three hour-long episodes a week, while Emmerdale aired four 30-minute episodes and one hour-long instalment.
