A new, family run bakery has opened in Poole.

Hello Bakery, which can be found at 333 Wallisdown Road, launched on Sunday, May May 31, much to the delight of residents.

The bakery describes itself as a fusion of British and European cuisine, with customers welcomed by the aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries.

Juliana Dumitriu, who runs the bakery alongside her husband Daniel, said: “There is not something like this in the area currently.

“People needed a bakery and a coffee shop here in Wallisdown.

“We offer everything people need, from breakfast, to coffee, cakes, and we offer take away as well.”

Juliana and Daniel moved to the UK from Romania 12 years ago and aim to offer a fusion of flavours at their bakery that reflects this experience.

“We have a lot of variety, from English, to Romanian, and even Polish,” Juliana added.

“We hope people can try something else.

“We have English products, but it would be nice for our customers to try something new, too — why not?

“I made cakes for nine years from my kitchen at home, and I would always ask customers what they wanted to try — people like to try something original.

“I make sure all the cakes are moist and fresh, for example, the carrot cake, has got something special in it as a point of difference.

“I also respect traditional English recipes too.

“The other day, an elderly lady came up to me and congratulated me for my idea, because she said for many years, they did not have a bakery in the area — she said to hurry up!”

Hello Bakery is a family affair.

Alongside Juliana and Daniel were daughters Julia and Lavinia, as well as people from the community who were helping with the launch.

There is also fresh coffee, made by experienced barista Ramona.

She showed off her skills at the launch, making flat whites with perfect latte art.

“I started at four in the morning to get everything baked and ready today,” Juliana added.

“We aim to have our fresh products on display, bread, croissants, and people can serve themselves — that’s on its way.

“If people want a place to relax, come here and try it.

“They are welcome any time, we are open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 2pm on Sunday.”
