THE GREAT British Bake Off contestant Maggie Richardson will join the judging panel for next month’s Battle of the Sausage Rolls in Poole.

The competition takes place at Jenkins & Sons on Saturday, June 6, and aims to raise money for The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.

Maggie, from Christchurch, will judge entries alongside Reg Pielesz from Jurassic Coast Fine Foods, MasterChef 2025 quarter-finalist Kayleigh Bowler and Ryan Perry, known as Crafty Beer Boy.

Organiser Claire Shpachynska, from The Hello Project events company, said: “We are thrilled that Maggie and her fellow judges will be presiding over our fantastic community contest, which will not only recognise our great local bakers but will also raise money for The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.”

Maggie said: “I love a good sausage roll, so I am very much looking forward to meeting the competing bakers and tasting their great flavour combinations.

“I imagine the standard will be high and there will be some fierce competition, so we judges will have our work cut out. It’s going to be a fun night.”

Entrants have until this Saturday, May 30, to register to take part and are asked to bring their sausage rolls baked and ready for judging.
