Families will be able to step inside a real Chieftain tank during a week of interactive events exploring Cold War history at a Dorset museum next week.
The Tank Museum in Bovington will host the experience in May as part of National Cold War Heritage Week, running from May 18 to 22.
The event is part of a nationwide initiative led by The Cold War Network, which brings together historic sites and museums across the UK to explore one of the most significant periods of modern history.

Nicola Burgess, education and experience manager at The Tank Museum, said: "Being part of National Cold War Heritage Week gives us a great opportunity to explore an important period of modern history in a way that’s engaging for families and visitors of all ages.
"Cold War Week allows people to step beyond the exhibition boards and experience this history first-hand, by climbing inside the Chieftain tank and handling real objects used by crews during the period."
Visitors will be able to handle original Cold War artefacts such as ration packs, protective gear, crew equipment and Chieftain ammunition.
A full day of activities is on offer, including 10 exhibitions, interactive displays, indoor soft play, and an on-site restaurant.
The Tank Museum is an independent Museum and registered Charity.
