Look inside Sexy Lobster overlooking Bournemouth seafront

Sexy Lobster, in Exeter Road, has officially opened its doors following a launch party on April 16.

The striking seafood restaurant was founded by hospitality entrepreneur Howard Spooner and executive chef Olivia Brinkley.

Taking over the former Neo, Sexy Lobster has brought vibrant colours to the site and a “fresh dining concept”.

It aims to ‘celebrate the best of the South Coast', with a menu focused on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

Dishes include Poole Bay rock oysters with champagne vinegar and shallots and white Dorset crab with pomelo, fennel and lemon crème fraîche.

Larger plates range from Grilled Sexy Lobster with miso garlic butter, lime and fresh black truffle chips to veal Milanese with fettuccine arrabbiata and 8oz grilled West Country ribeye served with chips and yuzu béarnaise.

Olivia Brinkley leads the kitchen and has brought her experience from Zuma and Sydney’s renowned Tetsuya’s.

She has also contributed to the restaurant’s distinctive look through her own bold, West Indies-inspired artwork featured throughout the space.

Sexy Lobster is said to be fit for relaxed, all-day dining from long lunches to evening cocktails.

A curated wine and Champagne list is also offered, alongside rosé and seasonal cocktails.

Founder Howard Spooner also owns The George Hotel on the Isle of Wight and its Bollinger boat “G Dogg”.

It is often seen zipping around the Solent with guests sipping Champagne and rosé, but now the boat will offer transport between The George and Sexy Lobster.
